We buzzy bees are a broad range of artists who bring our passion and experience to the studio. Emily Cline, the founder, has turned her lifelong dream into reality, hosting this space where creativity thrives. Alongside her, Saida Staudenmaier blends multimedia artistry with a love for teaching, while Lisa Henderson bridges her architectural background with hands-on creative projects, and Shari Correll rounds out the edges with her photography and whimsical frames. Combined, their talents shape The Hive into a safe, welcoming environment where every soul is encouraged to be themselves and get their art & craft on.

Lisa Henderson The Hive South Pasadena
Architect, Artist, Teacher
Hailing from the vast prairies of Manitoba, Canada, Lisa Henderson moved to Los Angeles after completing her degree in Interior Architecture at the University of Manitoba. As she worked in her field, she felt the desire to explore the correlation between architecture and interior design. This led to her studying at the avant-garde SCI-Arc in Los Angeles and receiving her Masters of Architecture.
After several years working at prestigious firms on projects as large as a million square feet, she felt the pull for smaller more intimately scaled projects with more meaningful connections. In 2002, as Lisa began her own family, she founded her own firm, Harvest Architecture in South Pasadena, where she focuses on repurposing existing spaces for modern use, while maintaining their historical integrity. In her role as Founder and Principal Architect, Lisa applies her years of training and experience to design spaces and collaborates with great contractors and subcontractors who share her vision of connecting clients to their homes.
Her passion for community extends to her personal support for the arts as a teacher and philanthropist working as a Trustee for a Private Foundation that focuses on Arts Education.Lisa takes her professional expertise to the next level through her involvement with various community organizations. Whether it’s the years spent working on local outreach and as an artistic director and producer at the renowned Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), Lisa elevates every project where she is included. Lisa uses her vast knowledge of design,
construction, performance, and project management to provide unique training through hands-on experiences for participants. A natural collaborator, Lisa’s synthesis of professional experience and endless wonder create unique learning opportunities.
At The HIVE, Lisa is spending time art journaling, drawing and working on her sculptures, building fairy houses, and is always excited to learn a new type of creating - most recently Indigo Dye and Shibori.

Saida Staudenmaier
Makeup Artist, Artist, Teacher
Saida “Mama Saydi” Staudenmaier is a multimedia artist, maker, makeup artist, and obsessive letter writer. She is a graduate of Cal Arts with a degree in theater scenic design. Rather than wearing her heart on her sleeve, Saida prefers to hang her heart on the wall, creating a narrative with visual storytelling in its many forms. For the past twenty years, Saida has worked as a makeup artist for print, television, and films. As a makeup artist, Saida enjoys enhancing natural beauty, seeing the transformation make someone feel empowered and confident. Saida also enjoys teaching art in its many forms as a way of holding space for her students to express themselves while developing their own creative vocabulary. She is excited to share techniques exploring many mediums with her fellow artists and students at The Hive, encouraging them to hang their artistic hearts, with hers, on the wall.
